Product information
Where are your products made?
Antipodes skincare products are proudly made in New Zealand. We use local ingredients wherever possible, reaching into our backyard for the purest ingredients from New Zealand nature. We are also proud to source locally including our environmentally friendly packaging and are committed to using infinitely recyclable glass jars, aluminium tubes and cardboard. By working with local partners and suppliers, we can work towards full traceability in our packaging supply chain.
Vanity Group Australia produce a range of skincare items for hotel groups. These formulations differ slightly to the brand's retail range, to meet the strict criteria of hotels across the globe/stability and extreme altitudes for air travel.
Our natural-origin mineral SPF is manufactured in Australia.
Where do you source your ingredients?
We use local ingredients wherever possible, reaching into our backyard for the purest ingredients from New Zealand nature. Not all brands know where their ingredients come from – but we do. We are privileged to partner with local New Zealand growers and producers who share our vision of sustainability. In fact, we’ve worked with many of the same suppliers since Antipodes Skincare was founded.
Thanks to these long-standing trusted relationships, we know our partners and natural skincare ingredients on a deeper level. That’s allowed us to achieve 100% traceability of ingredients, from forest to formulation.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Antipodes skincare has a shelf life of either three or four years, with expiry dates clearly printed on the packaging. Antipodes lipsticks have a shelf life of six years. The expiry date appears in this format: E 06/2028.
Our products contain natural ingredients, so once opened and exposed to the air, they have a shelf life of six months.
How do I check the expiry date of my products?
The expiry date is printed on the packaging – the product label and the box, if it comes in a box. The expiry date appears in this format: E: 06/2025
What order should products be used?

Are Antipodes products safe for pregnant women?
Our products are considered safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We use essential oils instead of artificial fragrances to create the exquisite Antipodes signature fragrances, however the concentration of these is extremely low so has no therapeutic effects on the body. We recommend patch testing for all products as skin can become more sensitised during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. If you are still unsure, we recommend you seek advice from your doctor.
Can I buy Antipodes shampoo and conditioner?
Antipodes’ shampoo and conditioner are part of our exclusive hotel-only range, so unfortunately the products are not available for sale. They are distributed by Vanity Group Australia to hotels across the world.
Do you provide free samples so I can test your products?
We don’t provide samples, but we do have a wide range of retailers who stock Antipodes products. If you visit one of these stores, you can test the products in-store before deciding if they are right for you.
You can find a full list of stockists near you: https://antipodesnature.com/pages/where-to-buy

Does Antipodes use plastic wrapping?
Antipodes aims to ensure that our green beauty ethos is reflected in all elements of our business, including the packaging of our premium natural skincare and makeup. We opt for safe packaging that preserves our natural beauty products and their efficacy. We’ve introduced a biodegradable tamper seal which eliminates the need for individually shrink-wrapped products, which we are rolling out across all our glass jars.
Antipodes minimises all plastics and uses the most environmentally friendly options available including recyclable glass jars, aluminium tubes and cardboard. We print with vegetable inks and are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved for sustainability. This extends to our secondary packaging. It also sees us maintaining a high-quality, low-consumption approach to our package sizes, achieving an environmentally friendly balance when addressing market demands for changes. In addition, Antipodes believes in working with local partners and suppliers and is proud to work towards full traceability in our packaging supply chain. As new sustainable packaging options become available, Antipodes continues to innovate.
What has happened to the plastic wrapping on Antipodes products?
We are on a journey to being 100% plastic free, and we take a low packaging approach overall, using as few components as possible. For these reasons, in 2022, we began removing plastic shrink-wrapping from our products in favour of an innovative biodegradable tamper seal on product boxes, made from wood pulp.

What products are best for my skin-type?
Your skin ‘type’ (normal, dry, oily, sensitive, combination) is genetic and will remain largely consistent throughout your life. Skin ‘concerns’ are different. Fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation and dullness, dehydration, acne, eczema and rosacea are all skin concerns that can affect anyone, with any skin-type. Skin concerns can be temporary or long-term, and are often affected by external forces such as hormones, medication, age, lifestyle – and even the weather.
You can’t change your skin type, but you can address skin concerns that crop up, by tailoring your lifestyle and skincare ritual to suit your needs at the time. This is why Antipodes formulates skincare ranges around skin concerns rather than skin types. Antipodes formulations are generally suited to all skin types. This means you can use products from all four ranges to best address your skincare concerns at any given time.
By answering three simple questions, we can provide you with the perfect Antipodes® skincare ritual.

Antipodes is a clean beauty brand. What does that mean?
Being a clean beauty brand means using only sustainable ingredients from renewable sources, and working with suppliers who can ensure traceability from farm to face. All our products are certified organic, vegan, or vegetarian. As a result, Antipodes formulations are good for your skin and for the planet.
Antipodes products are completely free from: parabens; sulphates; phthalates; silicon derived ingredients; synthetic fillers; genetically modified (GM) ingredients; genetically engineered (GE) ingredients; animal ingredients (except ingredients from living bees, such as honey); artificial colours; artificial fragrances; chemical sunscreens; mineral oils; petrochemicals (like propylene glycol); BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole); ethanolamines and ethoxylated ingredients.
Are Antipodes products vegetarian?
Yes. All Antipodes products are certified vegetarian by the Vegetarian Society UK (VegSoc), the oldest and most respected vegetarian organisation in the world.
This respected body audits every Antipodes product annually to ensure it meets its strict criteria for approved vegetarian and vegan status. This independent verification means users can be confident that Antipodes products and their ingredients are not tested on animals, are free from animal ingredients and genetically modified organisms, that there’s no cross-contamination during the production process and that our products contain only clean, sustainably sourced and biodegradable ingredients (and are free from BHA/BHT, formaldehyde, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, triclosan and petrolatum).
Our pure, active, sustainable manuka honey is sourced from a highly respected New Zealand company, Watson & Son, which harvests honey from more than 40,000 hives around New Zealand. The premium honey is wild-harvested from remote regions of New Zealand’s North Island, to ensure the health of the hives and the bees, and the purity of the honey. We use beeswax in our Moisture-Boost Healthy Lipsticks, a natural waxy substance that helps our long-lasting, healthy lipsticks retain moisture. Again, this is produced sustainably by bees that harvest the nectar of the wild manuka plant in remote parts of New Zealand.
Are Antipodes products vegan?
Many Antipodes products are certified vegan by the Vegetarian Society UK VegSoc, the oldest and most respected vegetarian organisation in the world. This includes all our bodywashes, and hand and body creams, plus our entire Skin-Brightening range and Anti-Redness range. VegSoc’s vegan logo is proudly displayed on all certified vegan products.
